13A – Reading Reflection No. 1 Steve Jobs
What surprised me the most about Steve Jobs is how he came back to his company when he was basically thrown away of his own company. When Steve sold most go his shares and went to Pixar, he made incredible movies in the Pixar studios and then came back to Apple to save it. He. made a master move which involved selling more share to Microsoft with boosted Apple confidence in the market and it's fluid of cash for investment.
What I admire the most about Steve is that he was raised in an adoptive family. I think that as a kid is very hard to live with the fact that your biological parents gave you away. I think that many great people in life have been created through hardships. Hardships make people stronger, and I think that made Steve stronger in a sense that when he grew up he couldn't get hurt as much.
What I least admired of Steve is that he was arrogant. In the book they mention that a lot of people view him as an arrogant person and difficult to work with. It saddens me because I think that a very important part of being a human being is to have empathy for others and for others thoughts too. Steve asked his jobs to do nearly impossible things that they had to accomplish or else he would get mad. He put a lot of pressure into people but I guess that can also be a reason why he reached so far in his life.
One of the interesting things about Steve's life is that he was a rebel. He found many adversities on his thoughts, people would laugh at him, but he was obsessive and that drive got him where he reached. He got thrown away out of Apple, the second model of the Mac had issues and that was a big mess for the company. I mean he found a lot of adversities and he knew how to overcome them. that's wha make an entrepreneur a good one, a rebel one because many people that stay in the flow are not able to develop as much as people that think outside of the box.
What Steve Jobs was the best in was being a salesperson. Steve manage to be an innovative creator of the digital world as we know it today. Steve was very skilled when it comes to marketing, he always knew how to merchandise his product, he even released the best commercial of all time with. colored Apple logo.
One part of the reading that was confusing for me was when Steve and his high school partner Steve Wozniak got trouble because of the company shares. Everyone that worked for Steve knew he was arrogant and one thing that is not clear for me is how did Steve managed to stay with most of the money and his friend with almost nothing compared to him. I think there's a dark Point there,
Two Questions that I would ask Steve Would be:
1. How were you able to push your ideas, even though many people wanted stop you from progressing?
2. What you respond to the people that label you as arrogant? Do you think being arrogant has helped you in your life?
For Steve Jobs hard work was literally doing the impossible, if you were not doing the impossible, you were not doing it right.I share that opinion until the extend of not making people feel less or acting arrogant.
